I am having so much fun working on this quilt for a friend. Here is a small sneak peek! I don’t want to give the surprise away. I am having a lot of fun with this one. It is done in all bright and happy colors and I am hand quilting it heavily. This is the largest quilt I have done not using a hoop. I am using Tonya’s method; and I am loving it. I have been able to drag it around with me and it makes it so much simpler if you are not dealing with the hoop also. So far so good with my back being nice and smooth and not having any puckers.
I went shopping with my son this weekend and I ended up buying three Christmas presents. I never ever shop this early. How fun to have gifts already. And here is the big kicker….. I have been asked to bring TWO vegetable dishes to Thanksgiving dinner this year. YES ME! Usually I get asked to bring the drinks or the purchased dinner rolls, never a true home cooked dish. My kids have been bragging on me. I am so excited and hope it all turns out. I was just carrying on about it this past weekend and then I burnt the soup. How do you burn soup? Well you leave it to boil and forget about it that’s how. But I am not going to let that ruin my elation of the Thanksgiving meal. I am allowed to have a few mistakes here and there. So that is all that is exciting in my life. Imagine cooking vegetable dishes exciting! Have a good week.

Your culinary arts are coming through. I have given some thought to trying Tonya's method, sounds to simple to be true. Can't wait to see finished product.

Your project looks like fun! Have fun dragging it around with you! That's the only way I like to quilt. usually by the fire with it all bunched up in front of me...pin well and you'll have no puckers. As for xmas shopping, well i try to get much of it done in Nov. so that i don't have that big bill arriving from the credit card company just before Christmas! Who wants that! Also I try to make as much of it as I can... In fact, i better get back to finishing those bindings now! (and my fire is getting low!)
