When I moved last fall I came across two space bags full of finished quilt tops and blocks.   They had been forgotten about for over four years.  I don’t know how I forgot about these bags as they had over 25 finished quilt tops or completed block sets to make a quilt top.  I guess that old adage out of sight out of mind applies here.  I decided I needed to do something about them so when I saw that one of my fellow bloggers was offering a great price on her beautiful machine quilting skills I sent three tops her way.

The three quilts I chose were based solely on the fact that I had enough yardages on hand to make backs for these tops that would coordinate with the quilt tops.

This is the first completed quilt that I have gotten the binding on.  I love what Valerie did with each of the quilts.

Finally my mystery quilt clues have turned into a finished block!  I like it, but I am still confused as I have units made from previous clues that I haven’t used yet.  This clue shows me sewing the blocks together so it must have a pieced border.  Other then this mystery I haven’t been doing much sewing.  I have had 3 different quilts that I have been handquilting on this past week.  A few more nights on one of them and I will have it finished.

I just have to show my light I bought to hang over my sewing table.  My new sewing room is a work in progress.  Not exactly sure what my plan is for it yet but I knew I loved the light.  The blue walls were already in this room and my automatic thought upon moving here was that they were going to have to be painted immediately but the more I sit in there the more they grow on me.

I am so glad to see March is here. It has to mean that sunny weather will be happening soon! Winter used to be my favorite time of the year, but I find as I get older I like winter less and less each year. I have been spending the past few weeks doing a little bit of hand quilting in my spare time. I have been working on getting my older sister who is somewhat special needs moved to my small town. She has lived on her own for quite a few years a couple hours North of me but the time has come where she will need one of us family members on a more regular basis so I have taken on the responsibility. I look forward to having her closer to me. I have been working on two separate quilting projects. The first is a large quilt that I made a few years back for my daughter. It is based on stories in the bible and the border is reflective of things in her life. I have always wanted to hand quilt this but just couldn’t get motivated to do it. I have the first block quilted, yeah! This is the quilt top before I had the border appliquéd.

The second project is a little quilt that I purchased at one of our quilt retreats rummage sales. It was already layered and basted.

As I have said many times in the past I like having a small project to work on also and since this was ready to go it was just what I needed. Here is the view from the back.

I went to see the movie Oz in 3D. What fun, I really enjoyed it!
